Unlike other wireless broadband services, Clearwire's service does not require an outdoor, line-of-sight antenna in most cases. Their service provides mobility utilizing a small modem and antenna together in one device (about the size of a book) and placed near a window. The modem communicates with a local cell site - usually no more than 1 - 2 miles away.
